My favorite is "Horton Hatches the Egg". Horton shows true selflessness and is rewarded in the end.

One of my favorite things about Dr. Seuss was that he evocked emotion from you. He wanted you to think. These books, as written for children, are as much for the adults!!! I love them all and he is treasured. We have saved all of our Dr. Seuss books for the grandchildren and I think we have about 25!
